Although there have been rumors that Cruise has finally quit Scientology after it kept him away from his daughter Suri for years, there have been numerous complaints of instances when the actor tried converting his co-stars to this controversial religion.

Given Cruise’s history and reputation in the industry, it’s always refreshing to hear the star saying something nice about his colleagues. For that reason, everyone was even more pleasantly surprised when hearing Cruise’s comments about Scarlett Johansson.

Mission Impossible, and Marvel, are two franchises that cannot be left out when talking about the film industry today. Despite belonging to the same category of A-list actors, Cruise and Johansson have never actually joined forces for a movie project.

They have been seen talking to each other at awards shows, but the possibility of them working together came forward only once throughout their career.

It was revealed that Johansson almost played Cruise’s love interest in Mission Impossible II. Although the actress was apparently already signed to a contract, and training for the role, Maggie Q and Keri Russell were eventually cast.

Cruise and Johansson have been at the center of a Scientology-related rumor. The organization’s security guard stepped forward and claimed that the actress was on a list of female candidates for Cruise’s next partner.

Both the Church and Johansson denied this claim, calling it ‘demeaning.’
