She is a tennis superstar with 23 Grand Slam titles to her name, but the role Serena Williams is most proud of is that of being mum to her mini me daughter.

Now, the most successful female tennis player of all time has given fans a new insight into their mother-daughter bond via a cute video she uploaded to her Instagram account overnight.

The short video starts with a slow motion clip of Williams at one end of the tennis court, where she is bouncing a ball with her racket.

A close-up of her face shows she appears to be in the zone as she mentally prepares to serve to her opponent, who is waiting at the other end but is yet to be seen.

But before she serves, the camera pans to the other side of the court, where her daughter waits, dressed in an exact replica of her mum’s black and white outfit and adopting the stance of a seasoned tennis player waiting to return a serve.

She laughs at her mum who mutters, “Really? You’re nuts,” before she sighs and walks off, lobbing a tennis ball as she goes.

The short video ends with the little girl attempting to hit a ball as it heads towards her before she giggles.

Williams uploaded the video to her account with the comment, “Sometimes it be ya own mini!”

Her husband of five years, Alexis Ohanian, was among those to comment, writing, “I refuse to believe @olympiaohanian missed that,” referring to the tot by her own Instagram handle.

Former professional tennis player Caroline Wozniacki also weighed in, “Haha!! So so cute!!!”

It is not the first time Williams has shared snippets of her family life with her 14.6 million Instagram followers.

In January she shared a video of her daughter’s impressive tennis skills in a post she captioned “Practice makes progress,” which showed Olympia dressed in full sports gear as she worked on her backhand.

She also loves sharing photos of the two in matching outfits, both on and off the court.

But the road to motherhood was not smooth sailing for Williams, who almost died after developing blood clots soon after the birth of her daughter, whose full name is Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr, but is known as Olympia.

She also admitted recently she did not feel a connection with her daughter when she was pregnant.

“I was nervous about meeting my baby. Throughout my pregnancy, I’d never felt a connection with her. While I loved being pregnant, I didn’t have that amazing ‘Oh my God, this is my baby’ moment, ever,” she said.

“It’s something people don’t usually talk about, because we’re supposed to be in love from the first second. Yes, I was a lioness who would protect her baby at any cost, but I wasn’t gushing over her. I kept waiting to feel like I knew her during pregnancy, but the feeling never came.”

That changed once she gave birth and overcame her health issues.

“I went from not being able to really imagine her in the womb to us being completely inseparable. I still feel like I have to be around her for every day of her life, as much as possible. I’m anxious when I’m not around her. Honestly, it’s a little much!”, she said.
