Mike Tyson versus Tyson Fury would be an intriguing fight between two heavyweights at very different ends of the spectrum.

Heavyweights in the modern era have tended to be of the super variety, much more than most of their counterparts from the last century.

Fury is one of the tallest ever men to win a world title and is a fighter with a great range of skills, technical ability, solid defense and slick footwork for someone his size.

The man he is named after is one of the shortest men to have ever lifted a heavyweight belt. He picked up his first world title age just 20 on a run that saw him knock out his first 19 opponents all inside six rounds. It was often said he was so fearsome and intimidating he had many fights won before he even entered the ring.

Speaking to The Business Excellence Channel, former world champion Frank Bruno said he thinks ‘Iron Mike’ – a former opponent of his in 1989 – would have enough to beat his countryman in a fantasy fight.

“Mike Tyson when he was 19, 20 he was a dangerous individual. Both of them at their peak, I’m sorry, Mike Tyson.

I like Tyson Fury, he would give him a run for his money here and there but Mike Tyson, 20, 21, 22, he was a dangerous human being. But it ain’t gonna be easy for small Tyson cause big Tyson would be using his weight. But I think Mike Tyson’s combinations would be a bit fast for him.”

Fury is next out in December when he rematches Oleksandr Usyk having lost for the first time to him back in May, while Tyson returns to the ring to take on Jake Paul in November despite not having fought professionally for 19 years.
