Tennis master Serena Williams and MLB superstar Albert Pujols pulled off an incredible feat never seen before, proving they are two of the greatest athletes in all of sports.

After Williams defeated Danka Kovinic in the opening round of the US Open, one Twitter user pointed out how she won the same tournament 21 years ago.

On August 29, 2001, Williams defeated Denisa Chladkova in the second round of the US Open, where Serena went on to lose in the final to her sister Venus Williams.

That same day, rookie Pujols scored a home goal while playing for St. Louis Cardinals, where he currently plays.

Fast forward 21 years and Pujols did the same thing, on the same team, on the same night that Serena accomplished the same thing she did more than two decades ago. *Expiratory.*

Life span is significanceBoth Williams and Pujols, so this insane detail is something fans need to appreciate in light of their life span.

Competitors like NFL quarterback Tom Brady and NBA whiz LeBron James are playing longer than any time in recent memory.

James gave a nod to Williams on Twitter, admitting that she is the GOAT [Greatest of All Time] and imploring her to continue serving.

Williams will now face No. 2 Anett Kontaveit in the second round of the US Open as she tries to extend her final Grand Slam.
