Tyson Fury has urged Oleksandr Usyk to ‘get back in the gym’ ahead of their heavyweight rematch.
Fury lost to Usyk in their undisputed title clash in May, but will now rematch on December 21 having inserted a rematch clause in their original contract.
The ‘Gypsy King’ broke his silence on social media by posting footage of him punching the heavy bag, and insisting he is gunning for revenge.
And now in a fresh message alongside Saudi boxing chief H.E. Turki Alalshikh, Fury insists he is already making preparations for late 2024.
Alalshikh began: “Usyk you are still wasting your time with The Rock filming for movies. We are in training now.”
Fury then interjected: “We are in training for you now Usyk. Get well brother, I will see you in December for the big KO.
Usyk is currently filming for Hollywood film ‘The Smashing Machine’ alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
He was even spotted hanging out with rapper Snoop Dogg, and is currently taking down time before he returns to camp.
Fury knows he will have to put it in a career-best performance to overturn the loss, given the Ukrainian even knocked him down and threatened to stop him.
The ‘Gypsy King’ was able to cling on and survive although he was handed a devastating defeat on the scorecards, but he gets a shot at redemption straight away.
It could be another huge moment in Fury’s career if he is able to win the sequel, given a huge undisputed fight with Anthony Joshua could lay in waiting.
AJ must first beat Daniel Dubois to gain the IBF title, but a win for both could see Fury land a second shot at undisputed glory.
Fury in surprise fashion, suggested that despite defeat, his fight with Usyk was ‘easy’ and that he made him look like an amateur.
Fury said on his Furocity YouTube Channel: “I’ve watched the fight back lots of times and still got the same answer – I thought I won the fight.
“Usyk knows he didn’t beat me. I thought I boxed the head right off him for most of the rounds.
“It was actually a lot easier than I thought it’d be, the Usyk fight.
“People said he’s a hard man to hit, I was lighting him up with four-punch combinations and laughing at him.
