Roger Federer retired from his career in September 2022, however, with his great role and influence on tennis in particular as well as world sports in general, the Swiss tennis player is still of great interest.
If while still competing, professional issues in the playing style of “Express Train” are focused, then when they hang up their rackets, fans want to learn about life, life perspectives and the things that matter.
In a Q&A session held on Twitter, the 41-year-old former tennis player revealed the most important lessons he learned from his legendary career.
The question posed to you was: “Roger, when you look back on your illustrious career, what would you say is the most important lesson or insight you have gained throughout your journey as a tennis player, And how do you envision applying it to life outside of sports?”.
Federer replied: “Overcoming adversity. Don’t live in the past. Always be creative. And think outside the box. All of these were important skills when I was a tennis player, but still feel relevant now.”
During his career, the Swiss legend was affirmed as a model of standards and professionalism both on and off the field. Therefore, many people consider him an example to learn and follow in life.
Former WTA star Carla Suarez Navarro shares the lessons she learned from Federer. Those lessons are similar to what Federer has learned from his own career.
“Every sports lover loves Roger Federer. That is his legacy. To say he is the best ever is a broad and complex argument. What is clear is that he changed tennis today. And also sports.
When you want to practice something, no matter what it is, you want to do it like him, with elegance, without breaking a sweat.
As if it didn’t cost him anything. We all want to be like him,” Navarro emphasized, “Whether we like him or not. If you love tennis, if you watch with real attention, you will enjoy watching Roger play.
Roger’s dedication led him to bring awe to generations.
We grew up watching him go above and beyond, succeed, and teach us valuable lessons. He taught us sportsmanship and respect above all else.
He showed us that it is possible to reach the top while keeping your feet on the ground. Two elements at the same time are special.
Being able to compete together on the court is unforgettable,” Suarez Navarro wrote after Federer retired.
